When he was born to Cronus and Rhea, his father ate him fearing that one of his children would overtake his throne as the King of the Gods.
Hades was known to be the most faithful to his wife out of all the Greek gods.
It was said that Hades had a very greedy personality and would always want to increase his ghostly subjects. (If a ghostly subject of Hades want to leave the Underworld, he would seldom allow that.)
Hades was the god of wealth because of all the precious metal that comes from deep within the Earth.

After overthrowing his father, Hades and his brothers, Poseidon and Zeus, also know as the Big Three, drew lots to determine which part of the world is ruled by who. (He just so happen to draw the lot of the underworld, which he didn't like at first, but he was satisfied with it after hearing that all the ghostly beings in the Underworld would be his subjects.)
At one time, Hades demanded one of Zeus' daughter at his wife, and he chooses Persephone. (Knowing that her mother would prevent her daughter from marrying him, Hades kidnapped Persephone to be his wife.)
